Character Common Name: Aiden Devon -Real Name: Aiden Caibre Faolan Devon Species: Elf Gender: male Age (human equivalent): late thirty’s or early fourties. He places himself at 39, but that fluxuates. Four Things About Your Appearance... - I wear an eyepatch, not for fashion or because I am a swashbuckler, but because I am blind in one eye and it prevents my sister from violating my dead eye simply because I do not have peripheral vision on that side and she can. - I enjoy a good, well tailored suit. - I smile even when I am not happy, because smiling makes other people happy (unless it is that cynical smile). - I have a very intense gaze.
Four Things About Who You Are... - My family means everything to me. - I can sing only half as well as I would like, and dance better than you would think. - There is nothing more mezmerizing to me than a dancing flame. - You will only be able to tell if I am upset when it is something drastic.
Four Things About Your Past... - I have learned long ago that love is a very dangerous but beautiful and torrid flower. - War is not as glorious as people would wish to think. It is what took my eye and many of my dearest friends from me. - Neurosis runs in my family, from my mother's side. - My name was once "The Wolf".
Four Things You Love... - My sister. - The feel of fire in my hands. - Being able to fool someone so easily with a simple smile. - The British Royal Navy. Pity it no longer exists- at least in its old glorious form.
Four Things You Dislike... - People who judge based upon gender, religion or nationality. - The horrible way my mother treated my sister. - Helplessness. - The smell of cooking meat.
Four Things About Yourself You Wish You Could Change... - My lack of depth perception. It comes with only having one working eye. - The horrors of war that are embedded in my mind for the rest of my existance. - I would like to be able to sing better. - Sometimes I wish I had as good a fashion sense as my sister.
Four Things About the World You Wish You Could Change... - Everyone deserves a good education. - The rapid progression of most machinery from combustable fuel to solar, electrical or wind power. - I should be able to pay for vending machine food/drinks with my bank card- as I always forget to carry cash. I am strangely addicted to 'cherry coke'.... - No more nuclear weapons and chemical warfare. Wait, the elimination of warfare altogether sounds good to me. I can be an idealist if I wish it.
Four Things... - I speak very softly, so forgive me if I use projective equiptment for my lectures. I do not like to yell. - I must drug myself to sleep at night. The nightmares would keep me awake should I forget. - There is nothing more exciting to me than getting lost in a place I never visited, without a map. - If I ever retire, I would like to become a pirate. I already have the eyepatch. But I would be a good pirate- the kind that go on adventures and fight bad pirates.
Three Truths and a Lie - I would run away if I could help it, but my sense of duty is too strong to let my vagabond nature take control. - Despite my wanderlust, Ireland will always be my home. - I do get angry, sometimes. - I do not like to lie, so I will leave this one blank.

Appearance: Aiden is quite a lovely man, despite his age. He dons short, dark brown hair, cut to the nape of his neck, with slightly longer bangs, as if they had once been short but have grown out to about his chin. His hair is always well taken care of, parted at the left and flipped over, dangling over his injured right eye.
Aiden is very old, for an elf, just over 6,000 years old. Due to his age, he did indeed fight in the original human/elf conflict, causing severe damage to his right eye. He is blind in that eye and covers it with an eye patch. His eyes are a piercing, vibrant green, much like his younger sister’s. He has a very sweet looking face, normally set into a calm smile, his youthful appearance overshadowing his old age and wisdom. He is fairly tall, even for an elf, just pushing over the 6’2” range. During his service he was mostly an elemental fighter with knowledge in archery, so his build is much slimmer and lankier than most army elves.
When on the job, he wears mostly pressed suits, though he does remove his jacket for teaching purposes. He wears mostly blacks and dark blues. Even off duty, he hardly gets any less formal, removing the jacket and adding a sweater or vest. He often carries a simple silver pocket watch, which he has become adept at repairing.
Like his younger sister, Aiden is also a model, though he is not a model for teen magazines and high brand labels, like Aeriwvynne, Aiden poses for suit stores as they fit him amazingly well, like Damiani, Versache, and other high class suit manufacturers.
Personality: Aiden is a very placid, calm man. Six-thousand years have given him plenty of time to grow patience. He seems to have an almost infinite patience, a very kind and understanding man. But that is just his surface. Underneath, Aiden is a cold-blooded killer, his war nickname being “The Wolf”. During battles, even now, he is vicious and shows wanton cruelty. Although he experienced little hand-to-hand combat, his thirst for blood during the war had left him a shaken man. He atoned for his crimes by trying to be the best older brother to his siblings and pushing back his past.
Aiden is very soft spoken, often using a microphone pinned to his lapel while lecturing, rarely ever raising his voice. He is fiercely loyal to his king; although attached to the aboveground, with the deaths occurring all around him, he appreciates the King’s decision to pull back and not remain out to die.
Although, at his first resurfacing, he detested humans for the horrors they commited and the loss of his eye, once he started to live among them and assimilate into their culture, he found his anger and hatred lessen. This new generation was not responsible for their ancestors wrongs against them. Although the earth was in a very sad state, the human population could be taught and reprogrammed to be more earth friendly, if the initiative was taken.
Likes: Aiden is particularly fond of his little sister, Aeriwvynne. Being the only daughter of his parents, he is very protective of her, and it is, in fact, why he came to Esras, moving into a teaching position to keep a better eye on her and her fluxuating health. Aiden is also a strict vegetarian, refusing to eat anything that was once dead or killed for him to eat. He enjoys things like vegetable stir fry and noodles, often eating such things. Despite his slim figure, the man is almost constantly eating. Aiden is actually very fond of humans, often going out of his way to take them under his wing to try to mold them into a more elven approved human, more earth conscious and perhaps a future ally.
Dislikes: Aiden is deathly terrified of blood. He has no more tolerance for blood from his horrific experience during the war, not because it makes him ill, but because it could bring out his blood-thirsty nature that lays just below the calm, sweet exterior. Although a small amount of blood, or an accidental injury wouldn’t trigger him, a violent display of blood and death has a very compelling effect on the man. This makes him quite dangerous, though years of experience and control have kept him in line. Aiden also refuses to eat meat and intensely dislikes the smell of cooking meat, as it reminds him too much of the smell of burning flesh. The war haunts him at night; the elf has taken to giving himself herbal sleep teas to keep his rest dreamless.
Magic Capabilities: Aiden is very strong in the area of fire elemental magic, in his war days using it to burn his victims alive. Once upon a time, he was one of the more powerful magic users, and time has only increases his magical capabilities. He tries to keep himself more in tune with nature and in private practices his talents, to keep himself sharp. The man is always ready, though the need is not there. As is true with most magic, the stronger your abilities, the weaker your defense against it’s opposite, causing Aiden to have a very large weakness to water magic, quenching his fire so to speak. He is very sensitive to cold, often feeling very lethargic when snow and cold weather hits, much preferring sun and heat.
Personal and Family History: Aiden was the first child of his parents and raised very spoiled. He grew up in peaceful times, living above ground for many, many years. He trained with the military units, increasing his knowledge and control of fire magic and becoming quite powerful up to the war with the humans.
During the war, Aiden did not rise in the ranks, but remained a support for the army with his adeptness as fire magic. He made himself a name, nicknamed ‘The Wolf’ throughout the war, for his vicious nature when in battle. He still holds true to that two-faced nature, though he has it well suppressed in present day. During the last fight, fleeing from the humans, the elf had expended too much magic and could not protect himself when a human came into close combat. He flipped out, sparking out what little magic he had left, which backfired. Sparks flew into his eye, blinding him, but seriously wounding his opponent. He was dragged back beyond the barrier, where his eye was left to heal. Although it has returned to its normal form, he is blind in that eye and prefers to wear an eye patch. Instead of agonizing over his injuries, Aiden dedicated himself into being the best brother he could be to his younger siblings.
Years passed underground, and he remained loyal to his family and the new King. Despite his injuries, he refused to give into the anti-human murmurs underground. He preferred to despise them in private, letting the anger fester instead of taking it out on those around him. He helped out his younger sister the most, his mother having grown incredibly overprotective, and Aiden often snuck her out of the house to let her walk about underground.
Once the barriers fell for the first time in the early 1800’s, Aiden was the first to surface, braving this terrible new world, wanting to make sure it would be decent for his family once the elves regained a slight foothold. He traveled constantly, tracing the world he hadn’t know before going underground due to the lack of transportation. He grew slowly to assimilate into human culture, understanding and becoming quite amazed at their versatility. He grew to admire them, in a sense, his anger ebbing away. They were survivors, they could change, but more than that, they could be molded.
He continued traveling the world, once into the late 1970’s starting to place himself in modern society, working various jobs to increase his knowledge and in a sense spy on the human race. Once into the late 1990’s, Aiden decided to go the easier route and use his mediocre (for an elf) illusion magic to cover his wounded eye and become a model of men’s suits, using that as money to fuel his travels.
Aiden was in fact the one who smuggled his sister out of the underground, right from under his mother’s nose, which is something she has never quite forgiven him for. He remains very close to his sister, Aeriwvynne, and tries to stay within close contact. Thus, after a time, he chose to ask the King for a teaching position at the school, hoping to keep a closer eye on his sister and finally put into action his plan of molding the younger human generation into the Elven ideal.
