Character Common Name: Zavier Lykaios - (Wolf)
Species: Human
Gender: Male
Age: 27
Position in School: Teacher - Biology, Natural Sciences, and Intro to Animal Care
Appearance: Professor Lykaois is an average built man, falling towards the leaner end of the scale, standing at 5'11 and 173 lbs. At first glance, Zavier comes across as predatory, severe and strict. His almond shaped eyes are a bright amber in color, greatly adding to his namesake. His cheekbones are set high, with gentle curves to the rest of his face. His lips naturally curve downward, so even when he's relaxed he seems to be slightly frowning. His clothes for school are always neat and crisp, preferably of some dark hue. His wavy blue-black hair is left to flow freely past the collar of his jacket, framing his face in a manner most would find attractive but Zavier simply does it out of comfort. About the only thing that perhaps detracts from this severe appearance are the three piercings in his right ear, twice in the lobe and once in the shell of his ear. He does have quite a few scars on his forearms and wrists, which stand out white against his naturally tan skin, but he typically keeps them covered with his long-sleeved dress shirts. On the rare occasion that he does not go out of his way to cover them, he certainly won't talk of them. If questioned, he blatantly refuses to answer.
Outside of school, Zavier tends towards t-shirts and jeans that are one size too large, as he rarely has to worry about company, and lets his hair flow freely. While this does not entirely detract from his stern countenance, it does allow him the freedom to get down and dirty in a garden. Of course, if he's going out for some reason, Zavier has a style that can only be described as 'classic'. A fine pair of slacks, and vibrant shirt of some kind beneath a contrasting jacket or complementary vest usually.
Personality: Zavier is a practice in duality, to the point he frequently confuses even himself, much less anyone else. On one hand, he's cyncical, short-tempered, jaded and horribly disillusioned with the human race. He's been through enough in his past that, when he's in the right mood, he feels that the whole human race could do with some serious 'thinning of the herd'. He protests loudly that he does -not- like children, that teaching is a temporary thing for him, and that simple, cold analysis is the only thing that's safe to trust. On the other hand, he is a ridiculous romantic at heart and wishes that the world was a place where you could easily trust someone else with your heart. Despite his protestations to the latter, Zavier will always stop in his classes to assist the students that are truly trying but simply not understanding and he does so with an extraordinary amount of patience and care. Of course, if a student isn't actually trying then, come finals, they can sink or swim in his opinion. Hopefully, sink. He has no fondness for humanity as a whole, and even watches disasters where hundreds die without batting an eye. However, for those few he does care about he would give the world to please them.
Like most, Zavier is carefully guarded when it comes to his past. In his whole life, one person has warranted getting close enough to perhaps even hear a portion of his story, so it's quite unlikely anyone else is going to get it out of him. If questioned about his scars, he blatantly refuses to answer, to the point of being rude. Zavier also has no problems being rude, either to other faculty members (usually only if they irritate him) or to the students that cannot behave. He's quite adept at picking out the right words to strike a painful blow to one's ego, and while he's recently become kinder about it and less cynical overall, he's still the same smarmy bastard as always.
Likes: Animals, plants, herbal and holistic discussions, reading, peace and quiet, debates, sweet and sour things, snuggling though he'll never admit it, Traian and coffee.
Dislikes: Anyone who takes advantage of or harms a child, animals, or nature, irresponsible people and those that have to go out of their way to make life a drama, seeing Traian unhappy and having to clean up after others.
Magic Capabilities: None
Personal and Family History: Born in England, Zavier was raised as a military child, his family travelling through a number of countries and only staying for a few years at a time. The longest points being Britian, America, and Japan, hence the slight lilt of a British accent to his voice. His lack of stability left him with little, to no companionship in the form of other people and he took to finding sanctuary with books, studying fervently throughout his travels. Zavier has never expounded upon his relationship with his parents, and rarely speaks of them at all if confronted but the one thing that is usually clear is that, like most teenagers, he felt out of place, unsure, and lost about his own place in the world. Unlike most teenagers, he broke under the constant strain from his parents, school, and life in general and attempted to commit suicide. He almost succeeded. Had his boyfriend at the time not come over unexpectedly, they would have never gotten him to a hospital in time. Afterwards, his life was intersected with social workers, in addition to the issues with his family and school resulting in his dropping out, getting his GED in America and moving as quickly as possible onto college. His life drastically improved from there out. No one questioned him. He was free to be alone at all times, without people pounding him with incessant questions. He got his degree's, and took the opportunity to fly to Japan through the JET Program and teach English there for awhile. It was during that time he decided he didn't really want to go back, and sought more permanent employment which he had found at RozenKreuz School in Japan. Unfortuantely, a sudden death in the family whisked him away from not only his position but his newfound partner. Originally, he was only to be there for the funeral and would have returned promptly. However, it seemed as if issue upon issue piled up that he had to deal with. Once all the complications with the death were taken care of, he returned to Rozen to find everyone he remembered gone including his lover. In an effort to find his lover, he contacted the only people he knew how to get ahold of, Alastair and Quin, found they had transferred to Esras and made all arrangements to not only follow but to surprise his lover in the process.
