Part 1: Fachtna and Aiden
Normally, Fachtna would have been loath to deal with Aiden. He did not like the other elf in the least, but on the other hand, now that he had Aeri rather firmly in his grasp, he found that he didn't mind being in Aiden's presense quite so much. Granted, Aeri was missing at the moment, but regardless, Fachtna's step was almost jaunty as he approached Aiden's door. Reaching the door, he knocked for a second and called out "It's Fachtna," before entering the office uninvited.
Aiden looked up from his paperwork, about to invite the man in when he pushed the door open and entered. "Ah.. that was rather quick." He commented, sitting up slightly, keeping his tone as even as he could, though his face slid into its common smile, despite the fact he wished the man quite dead. "How can I help you?"
Silence for a moment, then a small sigh from Fachtna. His face remained unreadable, for the most part, though there was a slight frown on his lips. "I'm worried about Aeriwyvnne being out on her own," he said finally. He paced a bit, eyebrows drawn together in a worried expression. "You made mention in your journal that you'd recieved an email from her and I was wondering if you knew where she was. I wish to go retrieve her."Aiden paused for a moment, regarding the man. He did appear worried, but he was sure it was for all the wrong reasons.
"I am worried for her as well, but she plainly told me she does not wish for anyone to come looking for her." A long pause as Aiden studied the man's face. "Though I do in fact know where she is. Dara did some investigation and sent me a printout of her debit times and locations, as well as traced the IP address in the email to what hotel she was staying at." He said. Despite his hatred of the man before him, he did want him to bring his sister back. Besides, if Fachtna came to look for her, Aeri wouldn't be able to be peeved at him.. besides, the amount of debits at bars was a bit worrying.
"At the very least, I'd like to speak with her in person. I can't force her to do anything, but I want to talk with her," said Fachtna, looking up at Aiden. Really, he was rather confidant that he could have forced Aeri to come back with him, had he wanted to, but he hand no intentions of doing so. After all, he was also rather certain that he could convince her to come back and even if he couldn't... well... forcing her would do no good. So for now he would let her do as she wished.
Aiden remained silent for a moment longer, watching, studying the man. He didn't have a single iota of trust in the man.. but Aiden was also confident that Aeri wanted to be found. If she did not, she would be smart enought o take out money in cash at the airport and use that, to use a fake name, to mask her IP address. But.. she did none of that. She wanted to be retrieved- but by whom he did not know. "She's in New York."
Fachtna made a face. "Of all the places she could be..." he murmured. Though he'd expected her to be quite far away, New York was farther than he'd though. Not to mention he found the whole city to be highly distasteful. However, he sighed and nodded. "But if that is where I must go, then I shall. Do you know which hotel she's staying in?" he asked. By this point he had lapsed into speaking in elven, simply out of habit.
Aiden nodded, reaching into his desk to retrieve the copy Dara had given him of the email with the IP unmasked, the address of the hotel written out at the bottom. "Here." He found himself still speaking their language as well, easily falling back into it upon hearing it spoken. "That's the address, though what room she's using I'm not sure."
Taking the items, Fachtna gave a nod. "I'll figure it out," he assured Aiden. He didn't imagine it would be that hard - he was used to dealing with such matters.
Aiden nodded, still observing the man, lacing his fingers in front of him. Aeri never spoke of their relationship around him, because she knew it bothered him. But despite her protests, he knew they were still seeing each other- though how far their relationship had gotten, he didn't know. And it would be rude ot ask. "Good luck."
Another nod from Fachtna, his expression appearing almost greatful. "I hope to return successful," he said. With another slight nod that was clearly meant to be a bow, he turned and left the room without another word. There was a slight frown on his face once again as he worked out the logistics of retrieving Aeri. First issue: plane tickets....
